CCMESI organises and co-hosts scientific events that connect researchers, practitioners, students, and policy actors working on environmental science, conservation, and urban sustainability. Our events range from international scientific workshops bringing together European research networks to student-focused symposia and public lectures that open our work to a wider audience.

Recent highlights include the SURE Workshop 2026, which brings the Society for Urban Ecology community to Bucharest for discussions on urban ecology research priorities, and the celebration of 30 years of CCMESI in 2026, marking three decades of environmental research at the University of Bucharest. Between these two landmark events, the team has hosted a series of workshops on nature-based solutions and urban nature accounting (including Making Urban Nature Count! and the NBS & SURE Workshop), contributed to the Society for Urban Ecology’s Executive Committee meeting in Sinaia, and supported the National Symposium of Geography Students.

Together, these events reflect the centre’s commitment to opening up its research, building networks, and mentoring the next generation of environmental scientists. Browse the list in the menu on the left, or use the links below to explore current and past events.
