Aim:
Citizen science is a concept that aims to connect two major knowledge systems: the scientific and the civic. This connection is essential for promoting democracy, including enhancing society’s capacity to respond to societal challenges. The project aims to support the University of Bucharest’s contributions to the development, support, evaluation, and valorization of citizen science projects. The project is aligned with the Development Strategy of the University of Bucharest 2024–2028, which aims for the complete and irreversible transformation into a modern European-type university, focused on RESEARCH, with elite educational programs and STRONG CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.

Objectives
O1. Increase the capacity to develop and scale citizen science projects for climate change adaptation.
O2. Enhance the attractiveness of the research profession by partially supporting a PhD student.
O3. Represent Romania in relevant international networks, including the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA).
