Project title: Climate-Resilient Development Pathways in Metropolitan Regions of Europe
Project code: PN-IV-P8-8.1-PRE-HE-ORG-2025-0341
Contract: 139PHE / 05/01/2026
Funding body: Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI)
Budget: 65625 RON
Period: 5.01.2026-30.11.2026
Aim:
Increasing climate resilience requires adaptations in infrastructure (through flexibility, diversity, modularity, and crisis management), in agents (through responsiveness, learning capacity, and ingenuity), and in institutional capacity (through rights and access to services, decision-making processes, information flows, and acceptance of innovation). The project aims to support the University of Bucharest’s contributions—through information, knowledge, activities, approaches, and feedback—to enhancing climate resilience in Romanian cities and to the production of high-quality climate services.
Objectives:
O1. Increasing the capacity to analyze the effectiveness and performance of local policies for improving climate resilience;
O2. Scaling up the participatory methods developed within the CARMINE project to build case studies for future European funding, including those targeting vulnerable groups;
O3. Enhancing the attractiveness of the research profession by partially supporting one PhD student and one postdoctoral researcher;
O4. Organizing a science promotion event dedicated to young people;
O5. Representing Romania in relevant international networks.
